Potato is rich source of carbohydrate. It has other nutritional value too like pottasium , calcium ,iron , vitamin C etc. Potato can be introduced in baby food after 6 months of age.
For sweet recipes, instead of sugar you can use honey, dry dates powder ,banana or other fruits as a sweetener.
RECIPE
Ingredients :
Potatoes - 2 medium sized (Peeled and boiled)
Milk - 1/2 cup
Butter/Ghee - 2 table spoon
Sugar - 4 table spoon
Almond - 2 nos (Thin slices) optional
Method :
1. Mash the potatoes so that there wont be any lump.
2. Heat pan and add Ghee, wait till it melt. Add mash potatoes and cook till mixture gets smooth and light. Stir continuously.
3. Add Milk, Sugar. Stir continuously. Cook till until mixture get thick.
4. Add almonds. Cook for a minute.
Potato Halawa is ready to serve. Serve it luke warm.
Tips :
1. You can add other dry fruits too.
2. You can do the same halawa by using sweet potatoes too.
